Type of snake?

Saw this guy by a pond in Denver,CO was just wondering what kind of snake it is. It was almost 4 feet long.

It's a Bullsnake. It is nonvenomous. Nice find.

Nice bull snake! They're pretty common in and around Denver. I find them pretty frequently out east of the city.

They hibernate underground like they do in every other temperate area.

Common misconception. Denver is not any colder than Illinois, but as is most places in our temperate zone reptiles do hibernate during the winter.

Even though we can got quite cold and tons of snow can and does fall, it actually can be quite nice during the winter as well. Growing up in Nebraska we would go for a few weeks at a time with overcast skies in the winter, in the two years that I've been in Denver It's never been more than a few days. The roads dry and don't get ice packed like the plains states do for weeks on end.

And yes, the snakes hibernate during winter months. Evolution is an amazing thing and life always seems to find a way.

Hi... im new... like in 5 minutes ago new... i have no idea how to post something... i have a snake that apeard in my kitchen and nead urget help.. cos ist been a week.. i tryd to feed him but he wont take it :'(
im not even sure what he is.. the one i found most similar is the read cofe snake... but none like him totaly.. i cant show a picture cos it askes for a link and im on my phone y dont now how this works at all... some one please help me DX
