Wanted to see what species of snakes can live in the small exo terra pt2600 habitat. I don't have much space in my house for anything bigger unfortunately :/

No familiar with that model. What are the measurements?

12"x12"x12", more suitable for a small lizard than a snake IMO.

(Speaking from knowledge, I have never worked with snakes)
As toddnbecka said, that tank would be better for a lizard. Using some rough estimations, I would say that tank is about 5 gallons. IF you get a snake, I would highly suggest moving it into a bigger tank when it gets older, since there isn't a snake that I know of that could live its adult life in a 5 gal.
Now, onto business, I'll list some snakes that could live in a tank like that as babies. The only snakes I can think of are Hognoses and Garters. If you're a beginner, both these snakes are good choices. I suggest you do some research on both of them. Rosy boas also stay pretty small, and babies could PROBABLY fit in a tank of that size, but that's a big probably, and I do not advise getting a boa until after you've owned a corn or a ball, or another beginner snake.
Anyway, hoggies are hardy snakes and don't require as much work as garters, but garters would be better for that type of tank, I think. Garters are also pretty inexpensive. :)
