I'm going to my first Repticon in less than a month. I've only been to small expos but never an actual Repticon! I'm really excited! I plan on getting my first bp, as well. Right now I have a beautiful female bcc. I would prefer to get a female pastel bp.
I know towards the end of the expo, the herps are usually cheaper. But on the downside, all the best ones are already called for. I don't plan on breeding her anytime soon, if all. But I'd like to have a pastel or spider female on hand (just in case) for future projects, as I love bumblebees, etc. The point being, I'm not looking for the brightest, cleanest, prettiest breeder bp out there that'll run me $300+. I'm really just looking for something healthy that would make a good pet.
So should I go on Sat or Sun? Any tips? Thanks so much!!! <3

Go late Sunday. You might miss out on getting the animal that you want, but vendors typically are trying to unload a few more animals to make the weekend profitable so they'll haggle more.

Can you go both days?
I'm going to one on the 21st and 22nd. My strategy is to look at the herps first thing as I have a specific idea in mind for what I want, and if they have exactly what I want for an amount I may be willing to pay, I'll buy it first. But, I'm also going the second day to pick off any deals on cheaper things I want such as supplies, and maybe other reptiles that are a real steal (so long as I can house them..)
It sounds like you know what you want though, and in my experience, it's best to get something that meets your standards and not just something cheap.
My 1st repticon I bought 2 cresteds, supplies, zoomed enclosures, ect, and only took 300$ cash. (Cash speaks louder than plastic or checks btw) and still had about 25 bucks left. =)
This time, my goal is to have 500+ in cash to pick up a specific crested, a snake, more supplies and maybe more enclosures.
So, if you are going for just for 1 reptile, I say go early with cash. The worst that can happen is that they don't have what you want for the right price. However, if you only go late, you may miss out and either have to wait, or possibly pay more to get one from a breeder. I all ready have plans on if they don't have what I want as well =)
I don't just have a plan B...I have C, D, and E as well lol
Do you know if repticon comes anywhere near Montana. I would love to go to one but can't travel too far

Check out the repticon web page and select your state. It will list all the cities and dates for that state. My city has one in march and one in august this year and both are in the same venue.
The closest is Idaho and looks like I missed it. I'm going to one I'm May in Washington its the northwest retire expo. Have any of you been to that one?
