LAdys and gents We have had lift off my babe, ate her first small mouse, kahlessi is a big girl now. I am soo proud but we did have problems the substrate in the tank was collected all over the mouse. so when she let go i took it away and quickly got another mouse ready and transferred her to another tub were i put the second mouse after it was ready. nice and clean ate like a champ me and her was on the same page no stress she got it down I cleaned the cage of the fine coco substrate and replaced with repti bark she is now on her hot side of her tank digesting sleeping like a baby.

Congrats, as long as your temps and humidity are right, eating a little bit of substrate won't hurt her. But if you're that worried you could just rinse the mouse off if it happens again.

Ok today i noticed that my baby was acting a little weird and So i took to my python manual and the net to compare notes. kalheesi was rubbing her nose is the substrate and just moving around a lot and after much reading and ruling out stress, temp and humidity problems, I concluded that she was still hungry. So I thawed out another mouse and she took this one better than the last and repti bark will be the only substrate I use from here on in because there was no substrate ingested nor any danger of it, I also dried the mouse very well with a hair dryer. she is a very happy girl now, I guess were she didn't eat from the first week she was home she was just extra hungry.
