Vinyl interior Enclosure

Does anyone know if it would be a problem using sheet vinyl flooring on the inside of the enclosure instead of going thru all the steps to seal the wood with all those chemicals?
I was thinking of covering the entire inside of the enclosure.
I found some decent looking wood grain vinyl.
Then all I'd have to do is silicone around the edges.
I suppose I'd have to use safe adhesive if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate the input since I'd like to get started tomorrow morning. (Saturday)

It's not a big deal and no, I don't want to get an aquarium. I'm building my retic a large enclosure and the question was simply a question. I'm sure it's been done and I'm sure someone with experience trying this will eventually chime in, but thanks for that advice

My only suggestion would be to check the MSDS on any material you use, and if that doesn't help do a search on that particular product. Some of the flexible vinyl materials from years gone by contained plastisizers that could off gas harmful pollutants.

Remember the Internet is full of misinformation, so find as many sources as you can and let the facts sift through.

LarryS, Thank you. Maybe I'll just take the extra steps and follow what everyone here has done instead of re-inventing the wheel.
I'll research it anyways for future reference. And I suppose it won't hurt in case someone else asks about it in another post in the future, but good input. Mahalo!!:)

Larry already gave some good advice.

I would also check whatever product you use to ensure it can stand the high, constant temperatures or the humidity inside the enclosure. It can be easily overlooked!

I bought a 9ft x 6ft piece of laminate type flooring that I cut to size for my cages, then seal around the edge with silicone. I've never had a problem, and it's easy to clean. Use a very light coating of laminate floor glue, and give your enclosure plenty of time to air out any fumes from it, or any paint you may use before putting your snake in it.

I used linoleum in an iguana enclosure and it was fine and easy to clean except the edges (making a nice angle on the silicone should help). I think I would still throw a couple of coats of polyurethane on all insides of the enclosure.

If you do use this, then I would recommend that you roll the edges up the sides of the tank about an inch or so to make it easier to clean the edges. Just run a bead of use silicone along the top edge and on the corners to make them waterproof as well.

He's building a 6'x3'x3' if I'm not mistaken.... Fish tank isn't a realistic option.

Correct Sublimeballs, except I had to modify the depth to 28" (keeping it 3' high) so it will fit thru the door.
