Just wondering what I need for a spotted python hatchling?

I currently have/am getting;

- 2 hides
- snake hook
- water dish
- feeding tongs
- hygrometer
- thermometer
- substrate
- mister
- reptile safe glass and terrarium cleaner
- Day and Night LED (does not produce UVB or UVA, it's only for viewing the animal

I am completely stuck on what I need to do in terms of heating. suggestions and help would be awesome

also I have a 12x12x18 terrarium. I know it would not serve as a permanent home as it is designed for an arboreal animal and these pythons are almost exclusively terrestrial. Would that house a hatchling for any period of time? Just wondering if I don't have to buy a new one straight of (although I know it needs to be done!)

any other tips/help would be appreciated

Get some heat tape from Reptile Basics (one foot of the 4 inch wide heat tape, have them wire it up for you) and one of these t-stats. I've got about a half dozen that I use and they've never failed on me.

If you provide enough decor there is no reason a python wouldn't use say a cork tube siliconed up higher in the terrarium. 18 inches isn't really that tall in terms of what would be encountered in the wild by this species.
