Feeding method

Does anyone wait until their Boa is empty (poops) before feeding instead of just the weekly/biweekly schedule? If so, how is this method working out - Feed, wait until Boa poops before feeding again

I wouldn't, this doesn't give the snakes digestive track any real time to recover, my snake usually poops about 3-5 days after feeding and gets fed 3-5 days after that, to have some down time. Plus she's really active during those times so it's nice to watch her "hunt".

The digestive track doesn't need "down time" to recover. I feed on their regular schedule regardless of whether they've pooped or not. Some species will only poop a few times per year because of how slow their metabolism is, you don't want them starving in the interim. This idea is just another commonly repeated myth that needs to die out already.

I do not wait until they have pooped to feed, i stick to my feeding ritual. (Minimum amount of time that has to be in between feeds per animal, and a maximum). I have had boa's that save their poop from 2 and sometimes even 3 feedings before leaving me a surprise. :D

Thanks guys. I've never tried this method, just heard about it. I feed my 10 month old boa every sunday with a skipped week here and there if he's in shed

Agreed. I normally feed on a biweekly schedule, but I let them skip days every now and then. Snakes are not on a schedule in the wild. If I have some food someone else would not eat, I give it to another snake, even if it is not their time to eat, kinda like a snack.

My boa has very slow metabolism. He is about a year and a half and he has pooped like 10 times. I usualy wait after 3-4 feedings before I feed him again beacuse his belly feels like it's gonna blow.
