Oh my God yay! I never thought I would be this happy to see a snake eat a mouse! :p

Some of you may know I'm the first time mom to a 5 month old Corn Snake and I've tried to feed her her first mouse with me 3 times now! First time she did latch onto the head but then released it and ignored it after that, second and third time she wouldn't even look at the mouse!

Tonight I got more info and was going to do the try and feed, if not leave the mouse in the viv with her over night. After about 5 minutes (just about gave up) of wiggling the mouse around in her viv she FINALLY latched on and ate it!! I watched at a distance till the mouse was completely gone and she's resting in her hide again, lets hope this is a successful feeding

Lol. That it is, today she had her head laying on the opening of her hide like "I want to see what's going on but, so full!" :p

I let my snakes rest for at least 48 hours after feeding before handling. The Dominicans are usually out and about the next night, but the lump is still quite apparent. The Okeetee typically hangs out in the warm hide the first day after eating, then the cooler hide the following day, and it's also quite apparent that he/she has eaten recently.
Eating, drinking, you're 2/3 on the firsts. Next is getting pooped on lol.

Lol Ya she stayed in her closed in hide the full 48 hours over the heat pad. I made sure I saw no lump before I picked her up. About how long after the 48 hours should she poop?
