I'm about to switch my young Boa from mice to rat pups next feeding and I was wondering about the nutritional difference between the 2 in regards to feeding schedule, growth rate, etc. I'm also curious about the difference between rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, quails, chics/chickens...

It's mostly a difference in fat content. Rats have more fat and some argue denser bones than mice. Guinea pigs are fattier still and there isn't any real need to feed quail or any other bird to a boa.

if the food item is bigger you will see a size change which will likely start with a shed.
