mexican king snake

Hi all, i had a Mexican king snake for bout 7 years, don't know how long the previous owner had her, but she stopped eating and the vet couldn't tell me why, heartbroken i had to put her down, my fiance bought me a new Mexican king snake, and that's why Im here, to try get all info i can so that history don't repeat itself. My new snakes name is Keshi, she is three years old. I've had her a week now. Anyone with advice and tips will be associated.

Why did you have to put her down? What else was wrong with her, other then she stopped eating?
