So I pulled Amani out early this AM and held him again, let him stroll around the house. No issues at all this handling nor for a week of ownership with aggressiveness what so ever. This evening I went back in to switch his hides around (concerned about him getting heat from his hotspot) and I did this while he was out and about, not resting in his hide. He took several strikes at me and actually was coming after me. His aggressiveness bothered me today and Im trying not to take it personal but his temperament up to tonight has been phenomenal (especially for his age).

I always go in slow and allow him to smell me so he knows its me. Im extremely gentle yet confident with him. Did I catch him at a time where hes hungry or looking for food? Did I just catch him at a bad time? Im just a bit overwhelmed with how aggressive he was because hes been so good since weve had him.

Our male corn is like this, one day he's fine the next he repeatedly strikes and tries to bite. We've had him almost 5 years and have just came to the conclusion that that's the way he is and to us it's just part of character. We still handle him when he's not having an off day as we call them.

Thats what I was figuring and hoping. Thank you for the reassurance Dave.

Could have had just a bad day, could have been hungry. If most days your king is good then I would not worry.

No need to worry D. Sounds like he might just be hungry or maybe he's still a little cage defensive. He should grow out of it. If he acts like that again you should pick him up and take him out for a few minutes anyway. You don't want him to think that kind of behavior will scare you away. He'll calm down once he realizes that you are the Bringer of food, water and warmth. :)

I've wondered about changes in barometric pressure affecting moods

Quite possible. We've had a change of weather down here lately and it seemed to correspond with his mood change.
