Hey guys question regarding size and weight.

My hondo has never been particularly the best or strongest eater. When I first got her, she went on a 6-7 week eating strike when she was on peach fuzzies. Never really could get her to eat more than 1 meal at a time. Either 1 fuzzy or 1 pinkie. She eventually picked up an appetite and she would take 2 big fuzzy's most feedings. So beside her being a light eater I am wondering where she is in regards to weight and size. I just picked up small mice(can get weight of them, just been eye balling size) that are about 1.5x her girth. Now she is on a good size prey item I am expecting good growth coming from it. She should be around 100 grams at roughly a year and a couple months, never knew her actual hatch date. Main question is, where are your hondos at roughly a year old?

Her mother is a 6ft female and the father was around 5.5ft long.

Mine is still under a year old but eats like a beast. misses alot when striking but the will is there and eats like a champ. But not positive on 1 year size but sounds to me like youre on track as long as its eating well now.

While I think that snakes like all animals have larger and smaller specimens, I also believe that the ultimate size of an adult snake is a combination of diet/environment and genetics. I have one Hondo that weighed in at 155 grams at one year and another that was 245 grams. at the same age. Granted the larger snake is a much better eater, but as he got older, I cut back on the frequency of his feedings. As long as you're feeding your snake all that it will eat at the appropriate frequency and your snake is not noticeably skinny, then I think it will end up being the size it was meant to be. Just my opinion.
