Hopefully these guys will take to extra small pinky mice, apparently babies can be difficult to get eating.

Cape African House snake pair, Indigo, female is a T- Albino and the male, Ukiah is a normal het Albino. They were paired on 8/29.
10 eggs were laid on 11/4/14. Looking to have hatchlings around early to mid January.

Several of the eggs were infertile and one or two of them failed a couple weeks ago so there are just 6 left.

First baby has fully emerged and is a whopping 4.3 grams! And I'm about 90% sure this one is a female in the first gender check.

Omg that is an amazing albino!

I usually am not fond of albinos because they have red/pink eyes. (I know some people love that, but i don't ), but those are the coolest eyes for an albino!!

The 4th normal het Albino baby is out and so is the T- Albino baby. The normal is a very nice 7 grams and looked female. The Albino is 6.1 grams and wasn't cooperative but appeared male. Last egg hasn't pipped yet.

Here are some new, still pre-shed pictures of them. I normally separate babies immediately, which makes it easier to keep records on them, but lots of breeders recommend keeping them to together until they all shed before separating them. So I'm trying that with this clutch.

Me too hah. I've always liked the look of house snakes. Do you have any knowledge of the various morphs they have for sale. Like I've seen all black, brown with pattern, patternless dark brown, tan/olive color. Are these genetic phases or if you breed a light with a dark will you get a middle etc.

Small, but not what I'd call tiny, compared to some babies I've seen.
Great pics (as usual), are they typically difficult to get started eating?

Um, I've heard both. They seem to have the reputation of being voracious eaters but also difficult to get started. So far this clutch is being difficult.

How big do they grow as adults?

[Charis]

Males are small and generally get to 2-3 feet. Females are much larger and generally 3 to 4 feet, although a few 5 foot females have been reported.

Bit of a surprise, Indigo's second clutch just started to hatch yesterday. I'd thought either the coxi or the second corn clutch would be next. She laid a third clutch on 5/21. 12 fertile looking eggs. This current clutch had a number of eggs go bad, hoping that doesn't happen with the third clutch.
