BRB regurgitated before shed

Good even guys, I have a quick question. I literally just witnessed my BRB regurgitate a rat a few minutes ago which surprised me because He was opening his mouth and I assumed this was because he is about to shed and was trying to break the skin free.

The odd thing is that this meal was almost completely digested and had I not witnessed it, would have thought it was fecal matter and came out normally, this now makes me paranoid and has me wondering if he's done this before. He isn't rubbing his head on stuff yet but he was the blueish color about 2 days ago so in another day the shed will most likely come off.

A few other details, I just moved him to a 60 gallon last night which measures 48x15x17, the cool side is 73 and the hot side is 84. He seems completely fine and is currently just exploring his larger home and drinking a ton of water. He's even sort of looking around like he wants food but why on earth would he regurgitate a meal after it was eaten like 7 days ago? Thanks for any info forum members.

the picture is for a size comparison, Stretched out He is about 4 feet currently. As you can see this meal should have come out the other end, it was tiny.

Double check your temps. I found that on the couple times this has happen to me the heat was off usually to cool.

hey marvelfreak thanks for the response. I checked the temps and they were very close to what they should be so I don't know what happened. He did end up shedding just fine that same night and had been acting completely normal so I guess all is well.

I've had that happen before. Usually it means either temps/humidity are off, or the snake was stressed due to some other reason, or it is having trouble digesting some tougher bits (hair and tails are uncommon to see spit back up). So long as the meal was mostly digested,, it's not a huge cause for concern. Just avoid big meals for a bit.

thanks s lot snake sitter. I have everything hooked up to the zoomed hygrotherm and the humidity stays at 81 while the cool and warm side stay at about 75 and 84 respectively so I think as far as thats concerned everything is alright. Instead of the rats ill just feed adult mice but they are too small he will eagerly take a second.

You are most welcome. Space them out and keep a close eye on him, and you should be fine.
