View Full Version : Yellow Annie fell today :(
Hey guys, quick question...
Took my hatchling yellow out to clean his viv. While he was in my hand he struck for some reason, and threw himself onto the carpeted floor from roughly above waist height (3-4'). I was pretty upset, so I kept him out, looked him over, seemed normal. Im hoping hes good to go. What do you think? Today is feeding day for him as well. Unsure if I should wait a day or two to watch him or feed as scheduled too... Just pissed right now I let it happen.

If he's behaving and moving normally, he should be fine. I'd wait a day to feed though to be sure. For future safety, consider getting a small holding tub for cleaning day.

Feed him and maybe a double meal. That probably why he struck.

It happened 2 hours ago. Now he's on the hunt in his viv. Moving around A LOT.

I think im going. I think its why he did as well. He only struck once before this and that was taking him out of the cloth bag I brought him home in.

This all sounds normal for a yellow. Mine has taken some mad dashes in the past(I believe chucks has a good story on the subject with his). Also don't be suprised if you get an unexpected bite if you do something the yellow Annie doesn't like.
As for feeding him....go for it; he's fine.

Thanks for your input. I went ahead offered him a rat, he took it. :D

He is fine. Feeding him should not create any issues.
