Oh god, my first feeding party.... I'll remember it forever. She's just perfect, she kills like a pro, 30 seconds and it's over. I love her.

Congrats on the first feed. They are amazing predators.
Thanks, I really didn't think I could be so cold hearted with a sweet little mouse, but when it's about taking care of her needs nothing else matters...

I have nothing against anyone who chooses to feed live. I know and respect how nature works but I still feel bad for the mouse. Every life matters so I prefer to feed frozen thawed whenever possible.

Congrats on your first feed. Feeding live could be risky to your snake. If the snake grabs the mouse anywhere other than the face, the mouse could bite the snake. Some snakes if they get bit, will become shy and refuse to eat for you. In my opinion F/T or freshly killed is the way to go.

I keep all hots and fed only live cas it was no harder than frozen thawed.
Once I was bitten by a venomous snake and felt the intense pain, i stopped feeding live or at least will let them strike the mouse and them quickly kill the mouse. I don't like watching them flip out in what's most likely a very painful experience, especially after felling it first hand.

Oops! I put this on the wrong thread!
I don't like the idea of making them suffer but on the other hand I feel like playing with a millions years old instinct, and if there is something I learned from Jurassic Park....... :D
I'll stay with live preys, I'm not saying it's the best for any snake but I feel it more natural, I don't know, I would feel like depriving her of a very important part of her life, don't you fear this?
I mean no offense to your techniques of course, I barely know what I'm saying... The question about live/dead food definitely is a topic I wanted to discuss deeply. It's not clear to me if the choice is based on the snake or not... I heard about snakes that refuse live preys and willl accept just defrost ones.

If you want to feed live that is your choice, but the snake does not need the challenge of killing the prey, it only needs to eat. I'm not saying this is why you do it, but some people feed live, because they want and like to see the snake kill the prey. It does not benefit the snake in any way.

Exactly! And not only is it not needed, or a benefit, it's a risk.
If that's a risk you're willing to take, that's your choice. We have told you why and why not. It's up to you how you choose to handle and feed her.
