View Full Version : Real Ivy or Vines
Looking at doing a couple Bio-Active setups for my snakes. Reading that snakes will destroy live plants pretty easily. What are some real ivy's or vine type plants suitable and recommend for snakes?

It really depends a lot on what kind of snake you're planning on having and the temps and humidity levels :p I think if we have those details it'll be a bit easier to help you

Philodendron and pothos lone stems alone are not strong enough to hold the weight of the snake. If you braid them it will give them the strength needed.

Pothos is probably your best bet. As mentioned, don't count on it for perching, use sturdy branches in tandem with the plant.
For non-vines, depending on cage height, snake plants can handle a lot of abuse. Sansevieria/aloe are also pretty tough. Some varieties have spines but your snakes need something to shed on anyway.
