I have a couple of these exo-terra water bowls, and every time I clean them I notice more and more bubbles on them. (See picture below) Anyone else experience this, and is it okay to keep using it?

Weird. Are those in the bowl material or maybe algae or bacterial colonies on the surface?

Yeah, they also look like they originate from underneath the coating of the inside of the bowl. The underside of the bowl could be porous and could cause the bubbles. Just a guess.

Either way, I would bring the bowl back to where I bought it to get a replacement.

They're in the bowl itself, I've scrubbed it and it has no effect... I also don't think I can take them back as I bought them over a year ago and I have 2 and both have done it... I haven't seen any ill effects on my animals, just thought it was weird and wondered if anyone else experienced this. I believe they're made of food grade resin.

Could it be calcium deposits? Whats the water hardness like where you are? If it is calcium soaking in vinegar will get it right out.

I'm not sure about the water hardness but if it were calcium deposits would they feel rough and be able to be scrubbed off? These are smooth and I think theyre in the waterbowl itself.

If its calcium it could be scrubbed but not easily. I'd try soaking vinegar cause really nothing to loose from trying. Just rince well before refilling with water and offering back to the snake.
