Baby boas anyone?....

Just had this litter born today ...this was another one of the females that was suposed to be a 100%het...again this one turned out to be normal,sooooo...it looks as though i have another big load of 100% hets and no albinos at all.
She had 18 live big healthy babies no slugs no stillborn....to bad there was no little yellow ones though...mom is doing great,and it looks as all the young are as well.

Thanks everyone for the kind words,..yes it was disapointing not to see any albinos at all...but all the ones that were born are beautiful little boas,and apear healthy and are doing well.That I am happy about:D

Congrats on the litter, but I have what may be a silly question:

Did you breed her to a 100% het male? If so, and you have these 'normal' babies indicating one parent is not het, then the babies would not be 100% het....right? Morti is the expert on the whole genetics thing, not me, LOL I'll have to ask him when he gets home......

Nope..it was albino male bred to a suposed to be, 100% het female, statisticly that should have given me 50% albino and 50% normal ,all those normals being 100%het for albino.
Seeing how she turned out just to be a normal boa,all the offspring will be 100% het for albino seeing how the male was an actual albino.

Sorry to hear she turned up normal for you. I wish you luck in your future breeding endeavors. I think I shall stick to my pythons and let Morti control the boas :p
