so im not really sure if this is normal for a ball python, as i just got my first one a week ago, but when he is out and the t.v is on, or something else is going on, he will raise his head and about 1/3 of his front body off the ground, kind of like a cobra, and "watch" tv. sometimes he will look around, and sometimes will look at us like that. is that normal? his body is vertical but his head is horizontal "looking" at something.
thanks
pete

Every snake I have owned has been mesmorized by t.v. It seemed to calm them down if they were nervous as well. I don't know why. I would think all the different movements and colours, but why would they be calmed down by those things?

my BP used to do that a lot when she was younger, when I ook her outside, or when the cat was near her enclosure. Hehe, it drove the cat nuts

Our ball does it all the time although he's not usually watching anything. He usually stares at the wall with almost half of his body raised off the floor of his cage--for hours! I think he's got some mental issues.

My snakes will occationally "stare" at the TV. Maybe they are just keeping still while there is so much "movement" going on around them...

Looks funny though.

You'll probly think i'm lying.. but the one time that my snake was out when the TV was on, he would watch it untill comercials came on. Then he'd move around and be honry like he is.. but then once it came back, he was a good boy again :)
