I'm paying right at $2.00 each at Petsmart. It was suggested to me on the Garter Forum to check online from a breeder. I checked Mice Direct and 100ea Pinkies/Fuzz would be $110ish with freight (assuming the $45.00 freight covers the full order). Pretty big savings! Only about .50 each. Wondering if there is someone else y'all suggest?

I buy through rodent pro. Good prices. They deliver to most reptile shows, so if you have one near you, make a day of it. Then you won't pay shipping. Also, when you buy online, your paying for a whole box to show up at your door, whether you fill it or not. So determine what you need and how much will fit in the box, and then fill the whole box. Yeah you spend more on feeders, but your not paying full shipping price on an almost empty box, and you'll be set on rats/mice for a while.

I've bought from RodentPro and Big Cheese Rodents, whichever was cheaper at the time. They both run specials all the time. Nothing bad to say about either, but Big Cheese is definitely my favorite of the two. Their packaging is very nice, vacuum sealed on foam trays just like you'd buy meat at the store. RodentPro uses resealable plastic bags.

Edit: Now that I think about it pinkies from Big Cheese may just come in a vacuum sealed bag, sans foam fray. The bigger feeders come on trays. Still very nice though.

I've purchased from Rodent Pro, Mark Baily (sp?), and Monster feeders. Never had issues with any of them.

I buy from RodentPro, and have only had one issue when my shipment got delayed in New York due to flooding in the area, and when I got my order, the pinkies were partially defrosted. They replaced my entire order when I let them know about the pinkies.. have never had an issue with the quality of the feeders ive gotten from them..

I buy in bulk from someone with a booth at our local biweekly animal expo, generally. But in between, if I run out, I'm lucky enough to live a mere 15-20 minute drive from Curious Creatures in Chicago. If you live in the area and haven't checked them out yet, you must! It's an all-reptile pet store that just opened earlier this year. :)

The best option is to find a trusted local supplier or to buy at an expo. I've ordered online from Layne Labs, Rodent Pro, and Big Cheese. I would go with Big Cheese hands down. They have great packaging, high quality feeders and the $29 flat rate shipping can't be beat. Layne Labs has great feeders too but their shipping rates are way too high. I wasn't impressed with Rodent Pro's packaging and I got quite a few soiled feeders with my first and last order from them.

I guess I'm really lucky, I help out at my local reptile shop/store. So I get all my feeders at rock bottom price, and I get to work with and learn about lots of species I wouldn't normally come into contact with :)

I agree, I really like Big Cheese as well! Great packaging, sizing and quality.

Sweet! Big Cheese is in Fort Worth. I have a co-worker that lives there. I can have him pick up my order.

Thanks for the heads up on Big Cheese. Picking up only comes out to about .33ea.

At the moment I just buy frozen rats from my local reptile shop. Usually I use Feeder Source at the Repticon shows.

My coworker picked up my order from Big Cheese today. Really good looking mice and they were really good to work with over the phone. A little over $50 w/tax for 150 mice. Not bad! I got a 50 pack of small and medium pinkies and a 50 pack of fuzzies.

I buy from Rodent Pro. For my bigger snake. I buy from a buddy who breeds rats for my pinkies and fufuzzie.

I almost used rodent pro but after reading these pages decided not to just in case some of it is accurate. This guy seems to think some of their rodents can be deadly to boas (http://www.deviantconstrictors.com/blog/are-frozen-and-thawed-rats-killing-your-boas.html)
