water bowl help

My (super) dwarf reticulated python and red tail boa like to tip their water bowls over and make big messes for us to clean up..any suggestions on what brand or style of bowl to use so this is less likely to happen?

I have a bcc also. I use for her the exo terra large water bowl. I know that in the near future she wont be able to sink in but weekly i put her in the bathtub. Easy to clean and heavy also. Hope this helps.

How big are they? I found cat litter boxes work great for bigger snakes. i use them for my Bloods, Carpets, Savu pythons and Dumeril & BRB's. The base is wide enough that half full of water and even my biggest snakes can't flip them.

Use a ceramic bowl that doesn't taper. They are heavier and a lot harder to tip, if they can at all. You can find them on ebay in different sizes for a lot cheaper than pet stores sell them.

Litter boxes work. I use cheap plastic dog water bowls from walmart/target ect. They're $1, and then have a wider base than top so they won't flip. Just go to the animal section. They come in blue, tan or grey at my stores.

I use the corner plastic water bowls from Petco. They look like imitation rock. They are a little expensive, but the do not tip over. My larger snakes push them around their enclosures but have never tipped them. The cost around $26.

Hey Jerry do you have issues cleaning these? I have two an while i like the stability and look they offer, the rough texture always seems like I'm missing spots and bacteria worry me. Plus they always discolor. Do you have anyof these issues or am iI being paranoid?

I spray them really good with cleaner and use a scrub brush to clean them. I have never had any of the snakes that use them get sick. You could also put them in the dish washer every so often to given the a really good cleaning.

Someone I know put the water dish inside another, larger container, and then put moss around it. It's much harder for them to tip in there--and even if they do, they just get the moss wet and not half their enclosure.
