Yes... Rear fanged venomous colubrids.

Either way, I think its more fitting here in this section, if the mods wanna move it they can, no harm done. :)

From what I have found, FWC venom is as toxic as a timber Rattlesnake, but they have a poor delivery system. A venomous snake is a venomous snake regardless of how toxic the venom is. Also a Hog Nose bite can cause some local damage.

Weird. I had read that their bites only cause swelling, pain and bleeding.

Referring to the FWC? That is probably true since like Jerry said, they have a poor delivery system and only inject a small amount.

I saw two in person in reptile shops, they have very unique patterns. Congrats on this 'hot' snake.

From all the info I've seen and from people I know who have been bitten, a bite is most likely not a huge health issue. But it's gonna suck. Swelling, headache, cramps, mild fever, etc. Just because you don't die, doesn't mean it won't be pleasant. And there's is always the unlikely chance that your odd has a bad reaction. Just like any venomous animal, you never know if your the unlucky SOB that's gonna have an allergic reaction. Just know the risks and prepare accordingly.

FWC are normally captive bed. At least the ones I have gotten. How hard is it to do, I don't know.

They have a poor delivery system for anything other than their natural prey I would say.

So, does anyone on here keep Mussuranas, and if so what are your experiences with them?
