Does Your Snake's Poop Stink?

Yes I am really asking this question. I ask because I have a male rosy boa that stinks up the whole house when he poops. The girls however never stink.

Depends on the type of stool...runny stinks alot worse than solid/firm.

My female corn snake takes some unholy poops, but they are thankfully small. If she was the size of a retic, they would clear out a build faster than a fire. My other snakes, not so much.

My little rosys poo never really smells at all, unless it gets on one of her hideds and i have to wash it on hot water. Even then though its never too bad

My corn snake male has the worst smelling poo ever! Everyone else except the gopher snake is fine. Still waiting on the gophers first poo.

Sand boas
grey banded kingsnake
carpet pythons
boa constrictor (bci)
carpet pythons (yes some stink worse than others)
ball pythons
woma python
corn snake

Colubrids are worse than Boas/Pythons IMO. Worst snake I have had was a pine snake. Worst cleanup was my male Diamond Python, he continuosly passed through his water dish and waste overnight and managed to coat the whole cage floor, walls and glass. Substrate and ventilation has a lot to do with smell. Shavings will mask the smell where paper products will not. Having a well ventilated cage will let the smell "escape". I have an air ionizer/filter/deodorizer in my room for bad days.

It's trance but i almost always feel the need to puke whenever i clean my dog's poo, but with the snakes i do not have that problem. Yes, i do smell when one of them has given me a present, but i just clean it without any nasty stuff going on in my stomach. And they do not stink that bad tbh.
One time i was decorating the boa cage a bit with new plants and branches and i was moving some earth to make a plant hole when i felt runny poo and i wasn't even disgusted, hehe.

I will agree with this wholeheartedly. My beauty snakes, falsie, and my king rat snake dumps will choke a freaking donkey.

Oops ! I made this erroneous post yesterday only to realize later that the thing discovered by a friend in the late 90's was NOT the feces smelling of caramel but the snakes themselves. Also, in fact, the specimens may have been Aspidelaps l. infuscatus. Sorry about the memory lapse. Hope nobody was disappointed by the smell of their shield-nose dung.

It's worst with my boa! She keeps pooping in her water bowl and the stink is mighty! Mostly it happens during night and the smell wakes me up and I have to clean it right away or I wouldn't be able to keep sleeping. The ball pythons smell quite a bit too, but when my corn poops I doesn't smell it at all!? Like, it's not as bad as with the others, although he poops a lot!

My blackheaded python likes to poop in the water dish, flip it over, and also smears it on the glass of her cage and it is pretty repulsive. It is so repulsive that I plan on using new substrate instead of paper to aid in preventing the smell, maybe even come up with a cage designed to prevent her smelly habits some how, if that's even possible haha.

None of my snakes' poops smell anymore. Cloud's poos used to smell kinda bad, and then deadly if he pooped in his water dish, but after switching to rabbits they no longer smell. The first few times they smelled even worse than his rat poo, but after 3-4 feedings that went away. His poops are also smaller now, too.

Worst smelling is done by all my Hognose......I swear, the smell will knock me over, especially if all 6 of them have left me presents......and usually they will leave me presents 3 straight days after they've eaten...

So far in this discussion I'm leaning towards colubrids being the most reliably stinky.

Don't get me started on the massive dog sized terds my monitor leaves in his water dish for me everyday, far worse than any serpent I've smelled.....
