H. Gigas. I should have him in about two weeks. I'm so psyched right now I can't even put it into words. I haven't kept a colubrid since high school when I had a scarlet king snake that escaped and I never saw it again. When it arrives I'll post a ton of pics.
If anyone has any advice about this species I'd gladly appreciate it... Also I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of other peoples falsies just so I have something to hold myself over until it arrives.
Also(just because I feel like talking about it haha) this is the set up he's going in until he grows:
I'll be putting him in a spare 15 long, using eco earth or repti bark as a substrate(in my experience aspen doesn't hold humidity well and molds real easily). A big water dish, basking spot of 90 and an ambient temp of about 80.

Congrats on getting the new snake. Can't wait to see it! I would like more info on what I quoted. I'm learning too, but use Aspen.

I use aspen for my Boa, and every time some falls in the water dish it has mold a day later, so I'm careful about that. If the snake snake wasn't so big I would probably wouldn't use it for her either.(Aspen is cheap and easy to clean with a large snake. 25 bucks worth is enough to laugh last a long time).
Also, I used aspen for my Amazon Tree Boa when I first got it, and it had a really bad shed. I switched to eco earth for it, and its had all perfect sheds since then.
I know everyone loves aspen, but unless its a large snake I tend not to use it.

Congrats on the almost new addition, look forward to seeing pics when it arrives
Congrats. Falsies are one of my favorite snakes. As far as your Substrate, really doesn't matter, I use newspaper. Their crap smells worse than you can imagine lol. I keep my humidity around 50% and they do great. I'll bump it up when they go into shed. Keep your warm side around 83-85. They don't need it really hot like some species. I've notice mine get agitated when my temps got to 90. And they have a ridiculous feed response. More so than my two retics. They seem to start out very shy, then as they mature you see them all the time. Very active. Make sure you take pics, and watch your digits!

Can I see some pics of yours?
I joined the FWC group on facebook... It's incredible, it seems like no two adults look alike.
I only have one young female now. My old male and female are in Florida with a buddy with the rest of my old collection, but I'll see if I can find old pics or if he can send me some updated ones. I just fed her tonight so give me a couple days and I'll snap some pics.
