So we went to petco because they were having a bring your reptile day. and why not. well it was a workout and what not. with them pissing and pooping all over, but with some help and a mop bucket all was good. then you had to contend with the snack sized dogs, and telling people that there dog shouldn't be around such a large snake. should be common sense to me but that is just me. my baby almost had an expensive meal. lol. but all said and done there were many many pictures taken and many people educated on big snakes. and we got one of the pics because we had our hands full. so enjoy.

Very well done. Keep in mind though, when you are in the public with a large snake, it is your responsibility to protect the public (even dogs) safety. When we take our large snakes in public to have people hold them for pictures, we use a potable plastic fence to only allow one person or two near the snake at a time. God for bid someone were to get bit, it would turn a wonderful educational experience into a nightmare.

Never thought about a fence. thank you. and I did manage to keep the pups at bay. even though she saw them once and that was a beotch to control. lol. but all that ends well. And I will be investing in a fence. I have seen them before. and this is by far the nicest snake I have ever had. she will even come out of her cage and climb up my leg if I just left it open. she almost seams to appreciate the attention, witch I logicaly think would be wrong and it must be just me putting human emotions and thoughts to reptiles.

My larger snakes also seems to enjoy attention. They seem to even pose sometimes for the pictures. None of my large snakes pay any attention to dogs or cats. Now if some one brought in a chicken or a rabbit, look out. LOL
The plastic play yard fences that Pecto sell, works great. I use two of them and they make a nice size area and fold up so they are easy to transport.

I certainly understand why you might want to do this as a way to promote snakes as pets and to help educate the public about reptiles. That said, I would be somewhat concerned that people who handle and care for the snakes at Petco could inadvertently infect your snake with mites or even a disease if one of their animals is infected. For that reason, I am very restrictive of who can hold any of my snakes, especially if they have snakes of their own or handle other peoples snakes and I don't know the conditions the animals are kept in. Am I being too paranoid?

Anytime I do things like this I make sure people have washed their hands and arms and applied disinfectant to the same areas. But I usually avoid the pet store ones. I did one and the one animal that I brought was put in quarantine for 3 months after I got back just in case.
That and I'd worry if the employees smelled like rat or other tasty treats
