Hello!

My African brown has laid eggs, she has no mate. This is the second time she has laid eggs (Mostly in her water)but this time she hasn't ate in 3 weeks first she was shedding then she laid eggs so i tried feeding her again and she rejected it and has been moving around her viv a lot, but she has laid eggs throughout the week, ive counted 12 so far and she still seems to be going at it and staying in her water bowl.

Is this normal?

I know parthenogenesis has been recorded on several occasions with several reptiles. We had a komodo dragon lay viable eggs and she'd never been around a male. Copperheads are a common example of snakes that have produced babies without a mate. Not real sure if it's been recorded in house snakes or not. Candle the eggs and see if they're viable. Or maybe it's like chickens and shes just laying eggs?

I have checked and they all seem to be slugs, how much longer do you think she will be laying for? It's been almost a week. Last time she laid them in one day.

Most likely just dropping infertile slugs.
