really nice cage! what are you using for heat?

First off, I have the whole room dedicated just to my snakes. That being so, I have a radiant heater keeping the entire room's ambiant air temp right around 84f. I turn the heater down at night for a good night time drop. So the only heat I have for the enclosure itself is a 11x12 inch piece of flexwatt for a hot spot. I routed out a recess on the bottom of the cage and attached it with just foil tape. Worked real well. I then have the tape hooked to a thermostat and along with the substrate dissipating heat, it's been real easy to maintain the hot spot right around 90f.

Thanks everyone.

Shane, it's actually con-tact paper (http://www.contactbrand.com//default.asp) . It showed up purple in the pic buts it actually a reddish/pink stone pattern. Was very easy and fast to apply and after sealing all the seams with silicone, is waterproof. Thats if you use the waterproof paper...:D

Great looking enclosure, we have our herp room set to about 78, though I don't know what we will do in summer. Guess we'll need to buy an air conditioner, don't wanna cook the snakes.

Air conditioner??? It doesn't get nearly that hot in Toronto. What kind of snakes are you keeping that you keep the ambient temp at 78? Even 30 degrees celcius, which is pretty high for toronto is only 86 farenhiet, which doesn't seem high for me once in a while during the summer.
