Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum as well as a new snake owner. I bought a baby Thayer king from a privet breeder. She was around 2 months old when I bought her (I say her not really sure it's a her but her names Medusa) when I bought her I was told she'd eaten a f/t two days before. I've not since been able to get her to eat. I've offered her pinkies every other week for the last almost 2 months and she won't touch them. She went through shedding least week and it was a clean shed all one piece. She's active coming out of her hides exploring her surroundings. I have her in a 10 gallon tank with aspen shavings. Her temp is around 86 in the heated side and humidity is 35%.... I've tried feeding in a separate container leaving it over night. I've wasted so many pinkies. Please any help. . I've tried braining tried senting with a lizard..I've soaked in chicken broth. I've wiggled it and I've just left it I'm at a loss I don't know what else to do she's beautiful and so sweet she has a small kink about half way down but she seems to be fine with that.

Welcome to the forum liven. I'm not sure what the issue could be with your king. What are you using as a heat source? Do you have a thermostat? Is she losing much weight? I was under the impression that if they were shedding that meant they were growing. It sounds like you've covered all the basic troubleshooting. I'd try bumping the temps up to 88-90. I'd also try a live pinky to see if that jump starts the feeding response. I hope you get her on track soon. Best wishes

Post a pic of this kink you speak of. My full grown ball python went several months last winter without eating. I wonder if it's common for other types of snakes to fast as well?
What concerns me though is that yours is a baby, I would think they need everything they can get to grow and develop into maturity...At this point I wonder if you should try assisted feeding and see if she will take it down, or just giver her some more time??? Certainly someone with more experience will be able to help you here. Hope it turns out well.
