Currently or in the past.

I've only kept two. I have a new baby Albino Cal King that has a great personality and look forward to many years with her. Love her a lot. But my OK Rat snake I raised from a baby was so awesome, great color and temperament, and my wife bought it for my birthday many years ago.

What are yours?

I've only "officially" owned 3 snakes so far. I tried keeping many snakes as a kid, but other than ringnecks I didn't know what they ate, so I ended up releasing them after a few days.

But, my favorite so far is my boa constrictor. I love his colors and patterns, and although he's a trouble maker he's nowhere near as much of a handful as my ball python and he's twice his size. He'll chill with me or crawl around, and he eats very well. He's a good handleable size still. The garter is too small to make handling too fun, but he's getting there. :) The ball python is too finicky of an eater to handle much. The boa is the one who sparked my interest in snakes, even though I've had the ball python 5 years longer than him.

Do I get to chime in? I've had one snake...for less than 24 hours now :P Heheh he just arrived today. But I do have to say I'm already in love with my High White Cali King. If you're going after looks you can't beat these guys, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm interested in seeing everyone else's responses as I know that one day in the (probably far) future I will want another snake.

My Cal King Hannibal Caesar is my favorite snake as far as personality. She-Ra is my most ferocious feeder, Sasha Fierce is the sweet/shy one, and Apollo is probably the best lookin :). Sorry I couldn't pick just one :)

My favorite snake was my female red tail boa, though the baby Burmese python was pretty close. I've caught and kept a number of local colubrids, from garter and water snakes to racers and black rats, but even the eastern milk snake's extremely mellow disposition just didn't have the same vibe as the old world snakes. Tried a baby corn snake once, little bugger managed to escape from an aquarium with screen clips.
Quite recently got a yearling pair of Dominican red mountain boas, really like them, and suspect they'll be the faves in the future. Quite manageable size and long life span, they will be great pets.

My favorite snake is my Costa Rican Boa, Carl. He looks like a normal BCI (with great colors), but he should stay under five feet long as an adult. His temperament is good and he has a very strong feeding response as well.

I said that too. Please note that there are TWO snakes in my signature, not one. :crazy2: When I'd had my first (the MBK) for about a month, I went out and got a garter. Soooo.

It's only not three out of strong restraint on my part. BHB has some high yellow banana kings and let me tell you, I'm tempted.

All that side, to answer the question: My MBK is a delight to handle.

The garter is way more interesting to watch, I just don't handle her much yet. We're still working on that 'taming' thing (She's CB, just...a baby garter, with everything that entails).

Out of all the snakes that i have kept over the years my favorite is and will always be the retic, super smart and comes in more colors and morphs probably than any other snake on the market. There's just something satisfying about keeping a big docile beast like a retic for me.

A common boa constrictor. No known background, so as I far as I know a Colombian-type BCI. I have a profile thread for him, called Cloud Strife (http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/boa-constrictor/106710-cloud-strife.html).

My male 100% superdwarf 100% het anery reticulated python. I think he's the perfect snake, about 5ft, slender, eats every time, great attitude, and loves to cruise when out. Never even come close to striking at anyone. He's also a very good looking SD.

I don't know why but for some reason I thought the retic's had bad attitudes. Good to hear.

Most of the retics i had, had some form of attitude. :D Thats what i love though, i always fall for the mean ones. However i did have one male retic, which was just a pleasure to handle. Very calm very inquisitive, never tried to strike at me. He was a pretty cool snake, i miss him (and the rest of them obviously)

My favorite right now is my tiger retic, absolute weirdo. Always acts like she's going to bite, but just tries to chase you off. Doesn't even open her mouth, it is quite a display though. Also, she is calm when you hold her pretty tight, if you let go she bolts immediately.

Out of all the snakes I've owned or worked with, Taiwan beauty snakes take the cake with out a doubt. Beautiful, active, good sized but not too much, great eaters, and normally even tempered. I like the other beauty snakes as well, but they seem to have more unpreddictable temperaments, other than the Chinese beauty, which I've always found to be very flighty, even at a mature age.

Of my 8 I don't consider any to have bad attitudes. They're either just cage defensive or always ready for food. Once I break the feed response and use the hook to get them out, they're a delight to work with. As is often the case, every time I've been bit it's been my fault.

This is a tough one. Love my Carpets, Dumerils, and Brazilian Rainbows, but my favorite is a tie between my Black Bloods and Savu Pythons. the Savu because they are so active and curious with such cool personalities. The Blacks because of there impressive size and there so curious. When i get the Blacks out they are all over the place checking everything out.
