I made a couple posts a while back (one about the enclosure and another about a regurge) and I just wanted to give an update on how things are going. I'll have to get some pictures up soon, but I'm in the process of making a custom foam insert so I'll wait until that is finished.

First of all, I made the switch to rats!!! She took it like a champ, with little to no hesitation. I was very excited to see her react so well to the new food. Have done 3 feedings so far with rat pups and all is going well. I'm very impressed that she takes down the pups... their heads are enormous. Also, she's gained about 30g in the past 6 weeks and is up to 172g. She's beginning to fill in nicely now being on the correctly sized food (I found out the pet store was feeding her 1 fuzzy a week >.<).

She's much more active now and loves to climb on everything. I'm doing a custom foam insert like I said above with some nice cork branches, dirt and some moss. I'm hoping she enjoys climbing on the branches instead of the thermostat probe wires (she pulls them out from under the hides on a daily basis... main reason for doing the insert). I'm also going to be building a hood for the enclosure out of PVC board or MDF, I haven't decided yet. From that I'm going to hang some fake ivy that I picked up a few weeks ago to fill the enclosure in and give her some nice climbing and hiding spots other than her hides themselves.

All in all things are coming together nicely and I look forward to posting some pics in the near future.

She finally shed 2 days ago and I decided to put the enclosure together tonight. I'm very happy with how it ended up turning out and as the pictures show she's loving it too! I still have a hood to build yet, but that should be in the next few days or so. I'll hang the ivy in there after I finish that, but here's how it looks now. If I must say it's quite the improvement.

haha... Total cost of the entire thing in the end (including fake plants/ivy) was around $50. I have a pretty good idea as to how I want to do it next time. Was a great learning experience, but I want to push the envelope further. It's too bad she won't need a larger enclosure for a few years... xD
