awesome, you did a good thing, when you say rescue, did you pay and consider it a rescue due to the conditions?

well...technically i DIDN'T pay for her...technically. see...this is gonna sound horrible so PLS don't ream me people...i did the best i could.:( anyway, my bf at the time and i had gotten a Nile Moniter from the same petstore. b/c my bf thought he was cool. not only did the store not tell us the truth about him, but they also didn't tell us that he would get soooo big and soooo aggressive. needless to say, we couldn't find anyone to buy him off of us, so we had to take him back there.:( btw, i felt SO bad about that. but when we took him back we decided to look at the iguanas b/c they are tamer then the Nile(obviously). when i saw the horrid condition that the iguanas were in i new i had to help, but i could only get 1. :(( but anyway, i was gonna call the animal rights people to get the petstore to clean up it's act, but i couldn't find one in my area.:(( so now, they are still in business, and prolly still putting them in the same rotten conditions. i'm gonna do something when i get back home, if i can...so no worries, but in answer to your question, i DO consider her a rescue because of the situation, i just wish i coulda taken them ALL home...but seeing as how it is a 1 bedroom apt. that would not be possible..:((

cute iguana

It's good that you helped out!

I noticed the size was a problem...the pet store did tell you that iguanas get to be 6 feet long right? Males almost always pass 5 feet, and females easily pass four feet although some stay at four. My female is over 5 feet. Since you got him/her so small calming and taming him down shouldn't be a big problem...

well...no..i was talking about how they didn't tell me how big my Nile was gonna get... i knew what size Chico was gonna be. but i also new that Chico was gonna be a lot tamer. when we got her in the car we took her out of her carry case, and she sat on my arm the whole time and looked out the window! and i got her potty trained within 2-3 days. and i mean potty trained as in if we were NOT home, she would run into the kitchen(tile floors) so that it was easy to clean up. if we WERE home, she would come up to me when it was time for her to "go potty" and i would put her leash on her and she'd go outside into the yard.LOL! she was the cutest thing! and sooooo sweet...never once whipped me with her tail or bit, or hissed...nothing...very sweet little girl.
