why are some iguanas orange?
isnt it something to do with mating season? i didnt think they went completely orange? or are some iggys just funky??
enlighten me!:w
Iguanas can be different colors for different reasons....
Where they come from can be a reason for some iguanas being brown/orange, and other areas iguanas a more green, and some areas iguanas have a more reticulated pattern.
Also during this part of the year most iguanas are in breeding season and during this season their colors become more orange to signal they are in breeding mode. Normally males turn orange and some more than others. But even some females do. My female turns quite orange during breeding season.

Some pics...
This is my female...as you can see she is in her orange breeding colors. She has little to no reticulated pattern (breeding season or not) and normally is a solid dark army green/brown.

These pics below are a little male we have. He has a LOT of reticulation and is very green compared to Roxy.

i think it has to do with maturing, all adults vary.
