This girl is the runt of the bunch. She had a twin that didn't make it but absorbed alot of the egg. So she is half the size of the rest.

Thanks! I got a buddy Chris that breeds rats and gives me a heck of a deal of the food because i order such large amounts. Plan on selling all but one or two. Paul the dads owner and me split the clutches each getting half. I get any odd number snake. Like the first clutch had 13 so i got 7 and Paul got 6 since i did all the work of incubating. Works out great because we keep the money part out of it all. Next year when he bring his female over even though both snakes are his we will split the clutch since i be doing all the work. It was his idea and it works for me. Best part is out of the 14 i ended up with i already got 4 sold. I am keeping at least the 1 so 9 more to sell.

Thanks! They are all mellow as can be. I can reach right in and pick them right up. No hissing, huffing, puffing or strikes. Compared to Reds it like night and day in their temperament. They are all laid back eaters to. None of them strike they just go up wrap and start eating.

That's awesome. My red has calmed down quite a bit. Still a very nervous snake, but can be handled. I've noticed them same feed response with him. As sketchy as he can be, he's the only snake I'd feel comfortable setting a rat down bare handed. He absolutely does not strike. He eats at his leisure during the night.

All but two are very shy eaters. I have to leave the food in the cage and leave the room or they won't eat. The other two don't care and will start eating while i am in the room feeding the bigger snakes. Both the adult males are mellow eaters, but the females will nail it before it hits the cage floor.

Mine wouldn't eat till I left the room for the longest time. But I still have to feed in the dark and leave him be. TV can be on but no bright lights.

i've picked up within the conversation that red are more nervous and or aggressive than the black bloods. Can you give me a comparison between the black bloods and SSTP?

Actually the name Black Blood is confusing because they are Sumatra short Tail Pythons (SSTP). Short tails are a cousin the the Blood. To make it more confessing is there is a Sumatra Red Blood and then you also have the SSTP. They are separated by a mountain range.

To answer your question Black and SSTP are the same animal Black blood is just a nickname.
