My snake when i go to pet it to let it know im there. Pushes me away with its body, i know it sounds weird since they have no limbs but it like pushes off my hand, i can most of the time pick him up with no problem but it startles me when he does that because im not expecting it at all. Am i doing something wrong? Can someone teach me the right way to approach a burmese python for handling, ive had him for like a week, hes about four feet long and healthy :hmm:

Your not doing anything wrong, although I would start using a paper towel roll or snake hook to tap your burm to let him know your going to lift him. My 2 burms will push and our retic does the same thing. It just takes time to get used to :)

Thanks i'll do that from now on and hopefully it calms down the pushy action lol, thanks alot
If you've only had him for a week and have been handling a lot, he might be stressed out and tired of it. I would give him a bit of a break to let him settle in.
My retic will push me off if he isn't in the mood to be mucked with... it's a nice warning before more drastic warnings like hissing, nose bumping, and then potentially biting if you keep pushing it.
