Need help

My Kenyan Sand boa is having some issues with his jaw. He last ate a week ago, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've had him for about 8 years and never seen this before.

He just keeps opening it really awkwardly, it doesn't appear that anything is lodged in there? Any ideas? I wish I could send a video of it. :-/

I'll try to. I didn't video it when I first noticed it. He did it about 3 times in a row then. But I pulled him out of his tank and he's just been chilling on my shoulder and hasn't done it since. :-/

I'm so frustrated, especially since I'm fairly new to my area and don't know any good vets.

Maybe he was just yawning.

Is there any chance he has an inflamed area in his mouth or small piece of substrate stuck in his mouth somewhere? This could cause irritation or make it feel like his jaw wasn't "seated" right so he keeps yawning to get it in the right position. Just a thought...
