Hello everyone, I am new to forum, or well I joined a week or so ago and decided to stop lurking and say hello. Anyways, I currently have 1 normal Female Ball Python, Namira and if I did this right, there should be a picture attached that the breeder sent me. I bought Namira July 26th at reptile show for $20, she was an impulse buy. I was originally only at the reptile show because I took my little brother so he could get a Crested Gecko. Anyways, Namira was hatched on July 5th, which ironically is the same day I was born. When I got her the breeder said she was feeding on live fuzzies so I stopped and got one on the way home and she ate it. The next week I got her a few frozen hoppers, which is when I found, and I think, joined this site, looking for tips to switch from live to F/T because I had 2 Ball Pythons, a sexed pair, before years ago. I was a minor and I had to rehome them when I moved out on my own, if you are wondering why I no longer have them. I had them for about 4 years and neither of them would ever take to F/T. Anyways I just went ahead and thawed it out and offered it to her and she took it right away with no problem. I have one more hopper in the freezer and then I am going to try to move her up to adult mice. Yep, thats the story, SSL I ramble sometimes.

Cool story.

You can switch to rat pups and skip the adult mice altogether. Sounds like quite the feeder!

Thanks for the friendly welcome everyone.

Thanks for the advice Aaron_S and Kera. I am already learning from being here. I have heard it is better to get them on rats as quick as possible before and I will definitely check to see if they have any rat pups instead. Namira is a great eater and not shy at all, she doesn't even mind if I touch her head as long as I don't move too fast. I couldn't be happier with her. Even though I just got her, because she is so confident and comfortable around me it feels like we already have a good pet/owner relationship, as much as you can have with a snake anyways.

Also I will try to get a few pictures of her up later, in a new thread in the ball python section, but when I tried to insert a picture directly into my intro post from my photobucket it wouldn't let me said something about no urls. I assume this is just because I am new otherwise, why would the option be there? Do I have to make a certain number of post first or what the catch? Is it the same with a signature?

Oh, also I am sure other people here also keep other herps as well, and I do too. I also keep 4 turtles which I will list below, for anyone who may be interested.

1.0.0 Yellow Belly Slider (Trachemys scripta scripta) Energy (CB '11)
0.1.0 Red Ear Slider (Trachemys scripta elegans) Azura (CB '11)
1.0.0 Cagle's Map Turtle (Graptemys caglei) Akatosh (CB '12)
0.0.1 Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta marginata) Arkay (CB '14)
