View Full Version : I Impulse Bought a Pet Rock

. . . and I love her to bits! Not REALLY an impulse buy as I was looking into maybe getting a BP some time last year. It just didn't seem right at the time and I wasn't too happy with the selection available to me and the prices they were going for.

Fast forward to about a week ago. I was browsing local ads looking for a male burmese python to maybe pair with my existing female. Didn't find what I was looking for, but stumbled upon this little lady. The seller was accomodating, we set a date and I got her the next day.

She's a 2014 pastel, hatched July 15. I named her Stella. The seller told me that she had only fed once since her first shed. I've already gotten her to feed twice and she's chubbing out quite nicely. She's a bit shy though and it takes a while for her to get the mouse. I'll work on getting her to pre-killed once she's had a few more feeds in.

Why thank you. She's a little bugger. I kind of forgot how small ball python hatchlings were till I picked her up! She takes down prey like nobody's business. I reckon she'll put on some weight quick. :)

Little update, tonight was the fourth time she's fed with me. She took pre-killed! Pretty pumped. Next step is to move her on to rats as soon as I produce some more with my colony.
