I have been in the reptile hobby for eight years now and have found that my favorite type of reptiles to keep are carpet pythons. i have a jungle carpet male and a caramel coastal carpet female that i plan to breed. I also have a pinstripe bp and a lava corn. I also keep two uromastyx (really cute). Im happy to answer any questions that i can

Hello and welcome :) I thought I'd ask seen as I'm looking into getting some kind of python (more a Ball atm) could you give me a quick run down of the care requirements for them? Are the requirements similar to BP? Also post pictures of your cold blooded beauties whenever you can :)
Welcome!! Love carpets, as do many people on this forum. :)

carpet pythons are GREAT pythons to keep as pets. I recommend irian jayas if you are low on space, and jungles are pretty if you have more space. they get a little bigger and can be snappy as a babies. they require 50-60% humidity and like to climb, but are less climb arboreal as adults. they take bigger meals than you would think. i can't stress the humidity part enough though, their not like rainbow boas, but they will get upper resp if not kept at high enough humidity.
they require 80-90 degrees in their tanks. Lastly buy one at at least a year old so they aren't as delicate. good luck!;)
