Nevermind, it seems the swans are just trying to wash the food down with some water and the fish are taking advantage..

I hate swans man. They are nasty. They have come after me multiple times while kyaking. Cool video- just wanted to put my name down on the "does not like swans" list.
However. .. it's hard not to be amazed at watching them with their young. The ferry their babies around on their backs. I will be out on the water and see a swan go by then out of nowhere a curious little baby head will poke out from the feathers between the moms wings and take a look around. Cool stuff.

lol I always find birds attacking people funny. Can swans cause any real damage to humans?

I don't know. I think so- they have powerful wings. Based off the way he was bluffing and from watching them go after other animals I think he would lead with the wings. They are more aggressive in the water than on land to. The answer to your question- I was never in any danger, I had a paddle. I would have felt bad if I had to put the bird down (which almost happened) but I think it would be an extremely odd circumstance that would leave a person unarmed and vulnerable in the water with no escape.
