How much would this go for and how rare are these? Just looking for an estimated price as to how much these guys go for. One just like in this pic? All rights go to original owner Boaphile on redtailboa.net considering this is their picture and no copyright is intended here! It's definitely a very beautiful snake.

Probably wouldn't hurt to ask the Boaphile if he breeds them. That's your best bet for an accurate price range.

I was curious because I saw one for sale at petco with normal red tails at 170 bucks a pop. I waited for the 50% off all reptiles sale to buy one and of course someone beat me to it. I knew it wasn't something normal and it took me forever to find a snake that looked exactly like it online. I have some crappy phone pics I can try to post to show the contrast of it next to the normal one in the cage. Very upset I missed out on something as nice looking as that at such a low price.

I would not buy your boa from Petco. Look for an established breeder or look for a reptile show in your area to go and meet breeders and see their animal. Often get better prices at the shows. You can look on Kingsnake or Fauna Classifieds. Just make sure it is a reputable breeder or ask for references. You should be able to find a nice hypo, pastel or salmontine for about $125.

Not to bring up an old thread but yeah I wasn't interested in it myself that much I was just wondering if the value was more than Petco's price and if it would be worth grabbing it at a low price. I hate chain pet stores and would much rather support a breeder but hey if the thing's worth a lot more than what it's listed for then I'll get it, but I found it it's not, so I would've been wasting my money anyway. Thanks to everyone for their input even though this is two months old and no one is probably going to see this haha.
