Hi Guys,

What's your preference on misting, do you mist at a specific time of day? And how often?

I'm picking up a pair of Kofiau's on Sunday and currently finishing off the vivs. I bought an automatic mister (monsoon 400) which you can set time of day and spray duration. Is it best to spray from front of viv to back, or across? I also have an RO water filter system as not to leave water marks on the viv.

One other quickie, the vivs are three sided glass, I am best darkening the sides down with vinyl a bit (car window wrap) so they won't be as stressed.

The female is two years and the make one.

Thanks :)

I used to mist in the morning, spray the snake directly and then all of the substrate and branches etc so that everything was wet to the touch. It would then take uptown four days before it needed redoing

I spray in the late afternoon every other day. I spray the whole viv pretty wet and it dries out nicely in those 48 hours.

Thanks guys, guess I'll try misting every 24hrs as the automatic system I have runs on a 24hr cycle.

I rarely mist since i live in the tropics and my gtp is kept in a vivarium... the live plants do help with the humidity.

Cool, I did buy a few 'Devils Ivy' plants but I put them in my Chameleon viv, planning on getting a couple more for the GTP viv now though.

I don't mist, since by BRB needs 80% all of the time. I rigged up the links below with a tube from the Elephant's nose to the top of the tank for a fogger. Turned out great!

I have a few of those vines growing inside the viv. We call them 'Money Plant' down here. Its supposed to help bring in fortune and wealth as its name says it all :P

Wait till you try Nepenthes sp. (Tropical pitchers). Those stuff look wicked sick for any tank. Just make sure your pet is much larger than the pitchers or they risk being food to the plant!
