Good afternoon peeps.

In a few weeks I am going to purchasing a couple of Yellow Tail Cribos.

I know a vast amount about these snake and have always loved them and now FINALLY I'm getting a couple. :)

My only questing is feeding. I know that these animals will do just fine living on F/T mice/rats but for a variety (both for myself and the animals) I would like to feed them other "STUFF".

I hear about people feeding them raw chicken, chicken livers and heart, beef heart and livers and all sorts of fish.

What I want to know is if anyone has any experience doing this and is it SAFE and healthy for the animal, is there certain things I should NOT feed them or is almost any meat product ok ?

Thanks in advance peeps :)

I have no experience at all, but definitely post lots of photos when you get them. I love all the drymarchon. I have a deposit on an eastern indigo at the moment.

I don't know much about cribos, but I think it would be better to feed them whole prey items than pieces(chicken meat, hearts, livers etc). You could probably feed some chicks, or other small birds. Maybe some small, whole fish. If somebody knows better, feel free to correct me.

I've bred BT cribos and Unicolor cribos and I've also kept YT cribos and Texas indigos. I would agree with the previous post that whole food items are a better choice for your cribos. I would stick with F/T rats, mice and the occasional chick. (chicks seem to make their feces stink worse than it already does).

That being said, I always fish scented my pinkies for my stubborn cribo hatchlings. Sometimes the fishy smelling water from the bottom of a tuna can would work wonders. I would stick with the F/T rodents from a reputable breeder to reduce the change of introducing parasites though.

Good luck!
Chris
