I think we really underestimate the intelligence of a lot of fish, reptilians amphibians and so forth.

Eels are incredibly smart animals. My eel was amazing to watch. "He" could solve simple problems and could recognize me from other people in the home. Very neat animals.

Seen several stories, videos and photos of this phenomenon. Nothing magical happening or any special bond. Just a wild animal being conditioned and habituated with human interaction because of longterm feeding from humans.

Sooner or later, accidents like this can happen: Moray Eel, Attack Bites Scuba Diver's Thumb Off - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVQ4m8hfx-4)

....which, often leads to someone killing the eel out of revenge.
---
Same happens with alligators, bears, raccoons, etc. You feed wildlife, its all fun and interesting and cute until someone runs out of food and the animal is still hungry and mistakes a hand or finger for a treat.

Perfect video to show why not to mess with them. Plus i learn something new. That is so cool how they have two jaws and the second one shoots out like that to pull the food into the belly.
