I received this Honduran milksnake for free due to the kinks it has (the person was told to euthanize it so they asked if I wanted it). It eats like a champ, defacates with no issues and is very feisty (fast, active and bitey). I have to help it when it sheds because the skin gets caught up at the kinked areas. These are older pictures of when I first got it. Is there anything I should know about kinked snakes or special care I may need to be aware of? I've heard that at anytime they could potentially die with little apparant cause (not sure how true it is). I have a cornsnake that I've kept for a few years and have had other milksnakes in the past, just never a kinked one.

Welcome aboard, I had a burm once that had the tail curl up but nothing that bad, if the snake seems to be ok and not in any sort of pain then I wouldn't see a reason not to keep it. I could be wrong though

Thanks guys! He seems ok for the most part as long as the kinked area isn't messed with much. He hatched out this way in Sept of 2013.

Ya, if he's eating and defecating he should be good. Usually if they die from the kink it's because the kink makes defecating difficult/impossible. So he should be good! I just gave one of my kinked Caramel Albino BP's to a girlfriend to raise up after I made sure she could eat and poop, I hate euthanizing when not necessary!!
