I was thinking of putting some aluminum foil around the sides of a glass tank to help reflect light for plants and to make my snake feel more secure by blocking out anything that might be moving around outside. Do you think the reflective quality of the foil would scare a snake or stress them out? Am I better just going with some newspaper or printer paper to cover the sides?

I would go with white paper. It still would make the tank brighter and give the snake a secure feeling.

You also might consider adding one of the Grow Lux lamps. The blubs don't add much heat and they emit the correct wave lengths to support plant growth.

p.s. The white paper will not block out alien snakes from reading the thoughts of your snakes;)

Yea, I know that works great for me, but when I put it on the heads of my snakes, it interferes with their shedding their skins. Besides, it looks kinda creepy with all those tin-heads crawling around in their cages:)
