Took my big white lipped female out for a little exercise. Decided to take the opportunity so snap a few shots of her. Everything was going well until she found the smallest cranny in my couch.. White Lipped being lightning fast, she was already 3/4 in before I had time to react. I then started to analyse where exactly she was and in what position she was. She was in a really tight spot for a snake this size. Gave her about 30 min to get out on her own..which didn't happen.. She started to feel really weak and limp. At this point panic got to me, took a knife out and ripped the couch at 5 different spot.

Close to an hour after she got in there, the couch is destroyed and smells like musk. Good side is I was able to rescue her with only a few scratched that will disapear in the next couple of sheds.. Glad she is alright!

Learned a lesson the hard way..

A couple of months ago, I came down stairs in the middle of the night to get a drink. I heard some panicked meowing and search all over for which cat was making the the noise. I checked under all of the tables, and behind the sofa, but I couldn't find her. I was confused, because it really sounded like the meowing was coming from the sofa. My gut told me to remove the cushions, and when I did, out crawled my cat. Somehow during the night, she had managed to squeeze her way underneath the cushions, and then through a hole in the fabric of the sofa frame. She seemed to be relieved to let out and she hasn't gone back since.

Good news for snake, not so good for the couch!

Wow.. I probably would have panicked too! Also, she's gorgeous! Would love to see some pics under a florescent or outside to show iridescence. Can't wait till I can get one of these some day. :p

Beautiful snake, I would have done the same thing, the couch is easily replaceable

Beautiful snake. I think I would have cut the coach open from the bottom. I know it is easy to give advise after the fact. LOL

Been there done that lol. My ball python has done it twice. In the future if you pull the couch away from the wall and lean it back, propping something under it to hold it up, you can wait it out. It took about an hour both times, but eventually he got curious and started to come out. What a pain lol.

Put in your position, I would've reacted the exact same way. Couches are easily replaceable. Glad she is alright. Beautiful snake
