Hey everybody. I need some of your expert advice again. Rianman ate last night and I noticed this evening, he was "backwards striking" and I noticed that he looked like he had a dip in his mouth. Eco earth I guess got packed in. I held his head in his water and forced his mouth open to wash out. What else should I do? It looks better but he's still doing the striking. His mouth is also fire-red inside.

Nobody???? Here are some pics I just took. Whatever he craws against sticks to his mouth. Mouth rot??? What do I do?

Can you bet a video of the striking? I wouldn't be too worried about the red right now, see if it persists. While digesting meals they pump more blood throughout their body to aid in digestion which could result in the increased coloration. No visible mouth rot. I would leave him alone for a few days and just observe his condition. His lip might be stuck on his teeth. It's really hard to tell from your pictures. Can you get a pic of him with his mouth closed from both sides of his face?

Lose the Eco Earth....go with newspaper and, offer a bowl (with a lid) with damp spag in it and, watch for a couple of days. Doesn't look to be anything going on with the mouth but, nothing would stick to his gums if they were dry. Might want to look for signs of an early RI.

Throat looks kinda "damp" in the first picture. Although, he could have just gotten out of the water bowl or had a drink as well.

I have a fogger with a hygrometer in the system that keeps 78% humidity in the enclosure. This was the first time I gave him 2 adult mice instead of 1. The next day, he had vomited 1 up and pooped all over the place. Seems to be better now. I guess overeating "can" actually make you sick. :wacky:
