Retic growth rate?

Hello fellow retic keepers. I apologise in advance if this has been asked before, but what's the average growth rate for a retic? My little male is currently eating 2 small weaner rats every week, So what sort of length of time before he's fully grown whilst being fed at a steady normal rate? At the moment he's got to be around 3.5 - 4ft know bit difficult to say, He's either trying to climb everything in sight or coiled around my wrist and arm! I'm not bothered or worried if he hits 10ft by the end of the year just curious really. Thanks for all the replies!

There's so many factors that play in(genetics, husbandry) that no one can say exactly how big. But assuming he's a mainland you can expect 8-12 feet or so in the next year. My jampea dwarf female went from about the size of yours to around 8 feet in a year. All reptiles(to my knowledge) have what's called indeterminate growth and continue to grow throughout their lives. I've heard of Retics still putting on inches every year at 14 years old. But the rule seems to be that they'll do most of their growth(length) in the first 4 years and begin to put on girth at age 3-4. Hope this helps

My local reptile shop ordered him in for me from the wholesaler that they use. He's a Sumatran retic and thats all i got really. So when you say 8-12 ft in the next year do you mean the end of this year, Or the end of 2015?

A Sumatran, cool. These are a true giant locale, and some claim the biggest of all Retics. His growth could be on the higher end of the spectrum, you may end up with a BIG boy. As for the next year comment, I simply meant a year from today. Keep us updated on this guy. I'm really curious to see his growth.

Thanks. I was a bit worried when they said he was a Sumatran, After my reaserch said about their size. I'm going to try and get pics off all my snakes next week, So i will post a pic of him for you!!
