so someone just sent me this saying they saw it in their yard or something. i live in california, pretty sure it's a rattler. anyone know what kind?
either way, very pretty snake.

Not sure, but it does seem to be a rattler. Head shape is right and the tail is blurry, but does look like it ends in a rattle.

After some consulting with my roomie/partner.... Southern Pacific Rattler seems to fit.

That definitely looks to be a rattlesnake of some sort

I'm not familiar with California herps, but a google search leads me to believe it looks like a juvenile southern pacific rattlesnake, but take what I say with a grain of salt because I have no idea.
